FAQs On Integrating Your MTN Line With The NIN

Last year, the Federal Government ordered all Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) in Nigeria to deactivate all SIMs that have not been integrated with National Identity Numbers (NIN) by December 30, 2020.

The Federal Government through the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) extended the deadline to January 19, 2021 for subscribers with existing NIN and February 9, 2021 for subscribers without NIN to accommodate more subscribers.

To avoid deactivation, here are some frequently asked questions to guide in the integration process.

FAQs On Integrating Your MTN Line With The NIN

My SIM was registered with my Voter’s card, and not my National card. Am I going to be affected?

This directive is to all Nigerian citizens who are telecoms subscribers. Your NIN must be paired with your SIM details.

You can register at any NIMC ECRs (Enrollment Centres) close to you. Kindly visit www.nimc.gov.ng for the list of all enrollment centers nationwide.

The NIMC office will communicate this to you after your enrollment.

No, you cannot. Everybody is to enroll for their NIN individually. It is a personal Identity Number

Can I link multiple MTN numbers?

Yes. Kindly dial *785# using the phone number you wish to link, enter your NIN and submit or dial *785*Your NIN# from the phone number you wish to link.

The number will be linked to your NIN automatically. You can also visit https://mtnonline.com/nin/ or download MyMTN App to submit your NIN details.

You can then dial *346# to confirm if it has been linked.

I get an error when I dial *346#. Does it work on all networks?

Yes, the USSD code works for all networks. However, if you have registered for a NIN and you keep getting an error message, please dial your service provider helpline.

I dialed *346# and I have gotten my NIN number. How do I link it?

If you get an 11- digit number upon dialing *346#, on your line, this means your NIN is attached to your number
