Chelsea Coach/Manager, Thomas Tuchel has been sacked

You never see this coming? The blues coach and manager, Thomas Tuchel has been sacked today 7th of September, 2022 following his failure to win his recent games.

Thomas Tuchel has been sacked today following his sensational defeat to Dinamo Zagreb yesterday, 6th of September, 2022.

talkSPORT’s Simon Jordan and Danny Murphy have been giving their immediate reaction to Thomas Tuchel’s sacking.

Jordan said: “They’ve obviously got someone lined up. It doesn’t feel like a footballing decision.

“They haven’t been great, but Tuchel has enough currency in footballing terms to be given an opportunity to correct this slight malaise.

“This game in the Champions League is incidental – they will qualify from their group. Something else is afoot here.

“There is something more to this. It isn’t just a ruthless owner cutting through what he considers to be the football landscape.”

Murphy added: “I’m really surprised. I think it’s too early. It’s a knee-jerk reaction to a game last night that they dominated and would have won nine out of ten.”

The club statement read: “Chelsea Football Club has today parted company with Head Coach Thomas Tuchel.

On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the Club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club. Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea’s history after winning the Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here.

“As the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the Club, and as it continues its hard work to take the club forward, the new owners believe it is the right time to make this transition.

“Chelsea’s coaching staff will take charge of the team for training and the preparation of our upcoming matches as the Club moves swiftly to appoint a new head coach
